Our Services

You hire us because you know there is potential in your home. It may feel overwhelming, but you know it’s there!

Your home should be the space your shoulders drop when you walk through the door. Whether you’ve just settled into a new space or outgrown what barely worked for you years ago, it’s time to finally make your home work as you need and want it to exist.

What do we do?

Well, a little bit of everything. A decluttering spree. Room reorganization and rearranging. Helping decide on accent colors. Sourcing furniture, drapes and artwork. Coming over and physically doing it with you. Or for you while you’re on vacation.

No two homes are alike, which is why we talk about it first, make a plan, and get it done!

  • Feel like you're drowning in stuff? Let us help you tackle:

    • Kitchen and pantry

    • Closets and linen closet

    • Bathrooms

    • Playrooms

    • Garages and shed

We'll create a system and plan to reduce and organize what you need for daily life. Everything will be put back in a functional and sensible way, ensuring it stays organized even after we're gone.

  • We assess how your daily spaces, like your bedroom, living room, dining room, and home office, are working for or against you. We discover opportunities for improvement and make your home work better for you, often with the things you already own.

  • If you're stumped on how to select finishes, furniture or fixtures that 'go' with your style or vision, let us help! Wallpaper, tile, paint color, artwork, drapery, fabric swatches and more - we distill your choices digitally in a package for visual reference and product procurement depending on your needs.

  • If you're already working with a professional and feeling overwhelmed by what you're committing to in the drawings, we are happy to come look at them with you. We review kitchen and bathroom layouts from an everyday use perspective in particular.

Better to adjust in the design phase than the built!

FAQs

What sets Soundview Design Solutions apart?

We are not looking to be a standard professional design company. We’re looking for the projects that tend to fall through the cracks of an interior or architectural firm, projects that could benefit from that design eye, but not at that scope or price-point.

Michelle is a licensed architect (although the license is currently on ice) with years of experience in single and multi-family design as well as managing retirement community remodels. She also has had an innate passion for home-making and spatial planning since she was young. Her intuitive and professionally trained skillset gives us the ability to deftly assess the approach and execution of a wide range of projects. It’s what we live for!

Do you draft plans?

Short answer - No, not at this time.

Long answer - While we have an architect license, we’ve chosen to channel that knowledge to this feasibility level instead of full professional status. We will sketch rough floorplans and ideas, take as-built measurements, but stop short of anything you’d take in for permitting. We will gladly recommend our favorite design professionals if and when you need those services. Plus, at that point we’ll have articulated what you’re specifically after, saving you hours of early-stage design fees and getting your pro onboard even faster.

The initial consult fee sounds steep. What do I get out of it?

Years of experience, insight, and a pen! Just kidding about the pen, no swag yet.

The initial consult could very well be the only visit we need to have depending on your project, hence payment for that time (mama has a deck to replace). It’s also the pivotal point of discovery where problems are defined and digested. The consult concludes with a written summary of our discussion and action items to move forward. For the DIY or budget conscious subset, our time may end there (with occasional check-ins because we love a good before and after!) or it could lead to hiring us for further involvement. Which we would love! It’s what we’re here for!

Anything else I should know?

We’re chatty when we’re excited. We don’t believe there are stupid questions. We are here for every dust-bunny riddled, crammed-to-the-brim problem area and we judge you not for it. If we don’t know something, we will tell you we don’t know and we will figure it out.

Everything is figure-out-able.
